Norfolk, Virginia, USA, 15th June 2016

Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters will proudly host the 17th Chest Wall International Group meeting, June 15-17, 2016 in Norfolk, VA.

This gathering provides valuable pediatric surgery education focused on the treatment of chest wall deformities. As home of the NussPprocedure, CHKD performs more pectus excavatum surgeries than any facility in the United States and serves as a major training site for pediatric surgeons.

This year, our 14th annual Nuss Lecture Series meeting will be concurrent with the “CWIG” meeting. The Chest Wall International Group is a group of about 450 pediatric, thoracic, plastic, and orthopedic surgeons interested in chest wall problems. It has been meeting yearly in different parts of the world since 2009, and this is the first time it will be hosted in North America.

This group is following on many aspects of chest wall deformity we share interests in, not only technical, but genetics, imaging, physiologic effects, surgical simulation et al, and there will be presentations on these topics.

CWIG 2016 will be chaired by Dr. Robert Kelly, a world leader in pectus excavatum and pectus carinatum surgery and Chief of Surgery at CHKD.
