The GRANT MEMORIAL PRIZE FOR NURSES

The Grant Memorial Prize for Nurses was established in memory of the late Mr. John Grant, Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Glasgow who died in 1982

The award is administered jointly by the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons and the Association of British Paediatric Nurses

This prize is sponsored by BAPS to the sum of £300. Submissions should focus on an aspect of surgical nursing for a child or a group of children and their families

The submission should:

  • Identify the needs of the child/children and their families during the period of surgical care.
  • Focus on at least two aspects of the surgical nursing care with supporting evidence.
  • Use appropriate background sources and literature.
  • Identify conclusions and recommendations where relevant.
  • Use the Harvard reference system.

The successful applicant will be expected to present a paper at the BAPS GBI Member’s meeting, and will be published in the ABPN Journal of Child Health Care.
