Nurses’ Study Day at BAPS 2013

For the first time in nearly 20 years, we will be having a Nurses' session at BAPS Annual Congress! The meeting is being sponsored by Dansac and Hollister, and will allow 65 nurses to come together for a day of sessions on topics including: Paediatric Stoma Care, Hirschsprung's Disease, Anorectal Malformations, Cloaca, Short bowel Syndrome, and surgical interventions. Speakers will include members of the Paediatric Stoma Nurse Group and the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons. Places are strictly limited.

BAPS President Elect 2013

Following a postal vote of Council Members the new President Elect (who will be validated at the Summer Council Meeting) is Mr David Burge from Southampton.

BAPS CASS TOF publication

The first paper arising from the BAPS CASS (Congenital Anomalies Surveillance System) TOF Study is now available in print.

Big move for Professor Agostino Pierro

Professor Agostino Pierro, currently Nuffield Professor of Paediatric Surgery at Great Ormond Street, will be moving to a new position as Head of General and Thoracic Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children of Toronto, Canada

Survey and audit on laparoscopic appendicectomy

BAPES are carrying out a survey and an audit. The audit is on laparoscopic appendicectomy. Those taking part receive a certificate acknowledging their participation which will be useful for appraisal and revalidation.
