Trained in Paediatric Surgery in Sheffield, London, Bristol, Cardiff and Auckland (New Zealand) Ross took up a Consultant post in Leicester 2001 with a broad remit but principally developing Lower GI and Oncological practice. He moved to become Lead Surgeon for Oncology and Trauma Service at Sheffield Children's Hospital in 2011.
He works on the BAPS Trauma Committee, spending 3 years as Chairman. From this he was involved in the National Trauma Re-Organisation Clinical Working Group and The Royal College of Radiology Trauma Imaging Working Party. He is currently co-Chairman of TARNlet.
