BAPS National Training Days

Evelina training dayTraining days aim to cover the breadth of the curriculum over several years utilising local and regional expertise. It’s a good opportunity to meet your colleagues and as we’re still a small specialty you’ll likely be working with these people in the future. Open for trainees, clinical fellows, Core trainees interested in Paediatric Surgery.

We incorporate your input into trainee meetings so all feedback is welcomed to try to improve current training, provide opportunities for networking for research, education and innovation projects and to have a good social event too.

Oxford Neonatal Surgery Course

This is usually a residential course aimed primarily at senior trainees in Paediatric Surgery and held in the beautiful setting of St Edmund Hall in the city of Oxford. The course provides a comprehensive overview of neonatal surgery (apart from urology) with particular emphasis on evidence-based practice and practical approaches to difficult clinical scenarios.

BAPU’s Paediatric Urology Course

This 2-day course aims to cover the knowledge-based Paediatric Urology Requirements of the Intercollegiate Curricula in Adult Urology and Paediatric Surgery with a UK and overseas faculty of Consultant Paediatric Urologists.  The course is comprised of lectures, Clinical case presentations,  interactive discussions and  Viva Practice Sessions.

BAPS/CCLG Oncology Course

This 2 day course aims to cover all aspects of surgical oncology and is aimed at senior trainees and new consultant’s wanting a refresher. Interactive sessions on major tumour types and current management protocols, tumour board and opportunity to present local cases.

For 2021 the normally residential course will be on-line due to Covid restrictions. Dates to be confirmed.
