GORD is highly prevalent in paediatric practice. Most children can be managed with effective medical treatment but inevitably some will require surgery. The positive benefits of anti-reflux surgery in children are frequently outweighed by the adverse symptom profile and the high recurrence rate especially in the neurologically impaired child. This course is aimed at all professionals involved in the treatment of children with GORD. It will help you to understand the best options for medical treatment and to help to identify which children may benefit from anti-reflux surgery and crucially, which children should avoid surgery. It is presented by a panel of UK experts in the field of paediatric gastroenterology and surgery.
The course is aimed at Trainee/Consultants in paediatrics, Trainee/Consultants in paediatric surgery, General Practioners and Paediatric Nurses.
It is being convened by Dr Osvaldo Borrelli and Mr Joe Curry at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. BAPS trainees will receive a 30% discount on their registration.
