23 Jun

Royal College of Surgeons, 23rd June 2016

This half-day meeting will be to raise awareness of the work that has been done to date by The Royal College of Surgeons and The Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) and to discuss with all specialties how to involve them in improving data and clinical terminology within their own specialty areas.

The objectives of the meeting are:

  1. To explain why SNOMED is important and why surgeons from all specialties need to be

involved in improving terminology (also see attached briefing for further information)

  2. To share how others have approached improving their terminology within their specialty
  3. To share how other Royal Colleges are improving their terminology
  4. To explore the opportunities for the SSAs to work with the College and The Health and Social Care Centre, in this important area.
