The British Association of Paediatric Surgeons is a charity organisation founded in 1953. It was set up to promote research into the surgical diseases of children such as cancer and those born with devastating handicap due to pulmonary and intestinal problems. It funds educational courses for surgeons-in-training and runs two international conferences per year to disseminate knowledge and showcase the latest surgical techniques and treatments. Its website also provides information on surgical conditions in infants and children for the general public and maintains a searchable network of contact information for paediatric surgeons working in the NHS.
