An opportunity for senior trainees and consultants to learn and practise, on unembalmed adult cadavers, the steps of a defined set of operative procedures which are relevant to both paediatric and general surgical training.
Course content includes
- Revision of laparoscopic suturing and knot tying
- Safe port insertion
- Hiatal dissection
- Heller’s cardiomyotomy
Format
- Practical workshops using unembalmed cadavers
- Simulation Procedure-Based Assessment (sPBAs)
- High Definition Endoscopic Stack Systems (Storz ‘SPIES’) and Harmonic scalpel systems(Ethicon Endo-Surgery)
Who should attend?
ST7-8, consultants and SAS Grades
