Advancing paediatric surgery through education and research
The morning will feature hands on sessions with models followed by an afternoon of lectures.
This course aims to help paediatric trainees consolidate the basic surgical skills of knot-tying by hand and instrument. Opportunity will be given to demonstrate proficiency in these skills on an individual basis using formal procedure-based assessments. Laparoscopic tissue handling and suturing skills will be practised using animal models.
The upcoming gastroschisis webinar will introduce what may be the next frontier in fetal surgery: prenatal management and treatment of patients diagnosed with complex gastroschisis. We will introduce our innovative Phase 1 trial* for fetoscopic repair of complex gastroschisis.
