The new document from the Children’s Surgical Forum entitled Standards for Children’s Surgery has now been published.
The document provides standards for the provision of children’s surgery. The overarching principle of these standards is to ensure children can receive surgery in a safe, appropriate environment, which is as close to their home as possible. This document advocates that local provider networks give on-going support to surgeons, anaesthetists and the whole multidisciplinary team involved in delivering surgical care to children in local hospitals.
