Clinical Associate Professor and Honorary Consultant in Neonatal and Paediatric Surgery
Outline of Role
UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (GOSH) are looking for a full time Clinical Associate Professor and Honorary Consultant who can integrate research, teaching and clinical work in Paediatric Surgery.
The post will be split between academic commitment (5 programmed activities (PAs) and clinical commitment (5 PAs).
The post holder will develop and pursue a high quality, independent research programme of relevance to the specialist neonatal paediatric surgery (SNAPS) and provide a translational research interface with the clinical SNAPS service at GOSH and the newly fetal surgery service which is established by GOSH/UCLH. You will take an active part and leadership in the multidisciplinary clinical, pathological and radiology meeting and contribute to a thriving educational programme of relevance to paediatric surgery.
Key Requirements
It is essential you have CCT/CCST in Paediatric Surgery or another relevant specialty with a sub-specialty interest in neonatal and paediatric surgery or equivalent training and experience (eligible for CESR).
Training in research methodology gained through postdoctoral experience in high quality research organisations is essential along with a track record of publications as lead author in high quality peer-reviewed scientific and/or clinical journals. A research programme that complements existing research strengths at ICH/GOSH is also needed for this role.
