2025 Special Interest Groups and Winter Meeting, Edinburgh

Save the dates! Our Special Interest Groups will meet on the 4th December followed by dinner at the College. Our Winter Meeting follows on the 5th December.

Edinburgh, 4th December 2025 - 5th December 2025

The Winter Meeting will be held at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th December.  Thursday will be the Special Interest Groups meeting in the Prince Philip building of the College.  This will be followed by a two-course dinner in the Fellows library of the College.  Then we will be holding a ceilidh in the Deacon suite of the College to which everyone is invited!  We have a great Ceilidh band (HotScotch!) and a cash bar.

There is a special rate arranged with 10 Hill Place (the College hotel)  at the discounted rate of £102 for Thursday night, and when you register we will send you the details of how to apply for this.

On Friday the Scottish Surgical Paediatric Society will join us for a full day of presentations including the Mason Browne lecture.

2025 Mason Brown Lecturer, Mohammad Belal

Mr Mohammed Belal is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at University Hospitals Birmingham, specialising in functional, neuro-urology, and reconstructive surgery. He has a particular interest in complex lower urinary tract dysfunction and has led service development in this field regionally and nationally. Mr Belal is a Vice president for Education of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) . He is also a passionate advocate for inclusivity in surgery, drawing on his lived experience as a spinal cord injury survivor to champion the rights of disabled clinicians and patients alike.

Places for Dinner on the Thursday night are limited and include a welcome drink, half bottle of wine and two courses.  When you register you will need to choose your options for the dinner from the following choices:

  • Turkey, Pigs in Blankets, Roasted vegetables, Cranberry jam, Roast Potatoes and Gravy
  • Fillet of Cod, Pomme Puree, Green beans, Peas, Kate, White wine sauce

They are only available to BAPS Members- so please ensure you are signed in to buy yours. Again we’re offering fleeces in either a gilet or long-sleeve full zip in a recycled fabric. You will need to order by Monday 17th November as our fleeces are embroidered to order.
