Bristol, 23rd April 2015
The spring training day will be held in Bristol on 23-24th April 2015. There are two segments to the meeting which will begin on Thursday afternoon with surgical aspects in nephrology. The Thursday lectures will start from 1pm in St Michael’s Hospital and feature talks on dialysis and surgical problems encountered with peritoneal dialysis and other aspects of neonatal and infant renal failure. On Thursday evening there will be an organised meal for those who wish to attend.
Friday is all about Trauma. In the morning session, delegates will cover and revise the philosophy and principles of Damage Control Resuscitation and Surgery, focusing on the resuscitative thoracotomy – patient assessment, indications and surgical technique. As part of the Trauma day, there will be a hands on course. Attendance to this segment is limited, but the course will be repeated twice, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. For those attending the hands on course in the morning, the lectures will be repeated. For those delegates not attending the hands on course, the lectures finish at lunchtime on Friday.
Participating in the special Trauma practical also allows participation in the the rest of the programme!
