The Certificate of Fitness for Honorary Practice has now been launched.
For the first time in nearly 20 years, we will be having a Nurses' session at BAPS Annual Congress! The meeting is being sponsored by Dansac and Hollister, and will allow 65 nurses to come together for a day of sessions on topics including: Paediatric Stoma Care, Hirschsprung's Disease, Anorectal Malformations, Cloaca, Short bowel Syndrome, and surgical interventions. Speakers will include members of the Paediatric Stoma Nurse Group and the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons. Places are strictly limited.
Following a postal vote of Council Members the new President Elect (who will be validated at the Summer Council Meeting) is Mr David Burge from Southampton.
The new document from the Children's Surgical Forum entitled Standards for Children's Surgery has now been published.

Kokila Lakhoo has just returned from Tanzania where the Tanzanian Association of Paediatric Surgeons (TAPS) has just been created.
The coalition government have now identified some recommended changes as a consequence of a review of the current system. However, the changes are yet to be implemented so once again for 2013 we are complying with an interim system which may, or may not, take place later this year.
Professor Agostino Pierro, currently Nuffield Professor of Paediatric Surgery at Great Ormond Street, will be moving to a new position as Head of General and Thoracic Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children of Toronto, Canada
