"Sharing Ethical Practice Together"

Following on from last year’s successful event, the next RCS Annual Surgeon Educators’ Day will take place on Friday 20 May 2016. The aim of the event is to bring together surgeon educators to share best practice and to discuss the current issues and trends relating to education and training.

2 Day course covering Advanced Paediatric Trauma Skills

Aimed at senior surgical trainees, consultants and theatre personnel with an interest in laparoscopic liver surgery, this one day course will cover the history and evidence for laparoscopic liver resection.

Working in paediatric surgery, critical care, anaesthesia or paediatric emergency medicine? Want to feel more confident in managing Paediatric Trauma?

An opportunity for senior trainees and consultants to learn and practise, on unembalmed adult cadavers, the steps of a defined set of operative procedures which are relevant to both paediatric and general surgical training.

Friday 4th March 16.00 for talks and coffee/tea followed by pre dinner drinks at 18.30 then dinner at 19.30 at the Royal College of Surgeons, 35-43 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London, WC2A 3PE

We would like to welcome you all to Glasgow for the National Training Day on 25th and 26th February. This will be held on the Queen Elizabeth Hospitals Campus, a new, state of the art facility incorporating Glasgow's Royal Hospital for Children. This is the largest hospital site in Europe. The training day will be held in the Queen Elizabeth Teaching, Learning and Education Centre.

The aim of the course is to enable the candidate to implement the principles of ongoing management of the ciritically ill child, post resuscitation and stabilisation. The BASIC course is APLS on steroids.

This course aims to develop a trainee's surgical skills focusing on the management of a number of neonatal and infant conditions

This 2 day event take place in Leicester on 25th and 26th January 2016. More details to follow.
